What do you study? I am a science communicator based in San Diego. I currently work at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies where I write articles for Inside Salk magazine and press releases for upcoming scientific papers. I also produce science videos and co-host Salk’s podcast, Where Cures Begin.
Why is it important? The goal of science communication is to make science accessible to everyone. As a research institution, Salk hopes that our science communication efforts will help inspire the next generation of scientists while sparking interest and awareness for Salk’s science.
How did you become interested in science? I first went into science because I wanted to learn about the brain. I was fascinated by understanding where consciousness comes from.
What do you like about working in a STEM profession? I love learning about Salk’s science. Every day, a scientist is making a new discovery that is helping advance our understanding of the world we live in.
